Mojito

Mojitos date back to the early 16th century in Cuba, originally consumed for medicinal purposes. Now they are a refreshing staple enjoyed around the world. Fun Fact: It is believed that Mojitos were Ernest Hemingway’s favorite cocktail!

Recommended Glass: Highball, I used these.

  • 2 oz light rum

  • 1 lime, cut into quarters

  • 2 tbsp mojito simple syrup, traditionally white sugar

  • 6-10 fresh mint leaves

  • top with club soda

In a tall glass, add mint leaves and 1 lime wedge, muddle*. Now add your sweetener and juice of the remaining wedges, lightly muddle to incorporate. Add ice, rum and stop with club soda. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge.

*Remember not to over muddle to prevent the bitterness of the limes pith from coming through.
