Aperol Spritz
Aperol Spritz was the drink of the summer in 2022 and it doesn’t seem to be leaving the scene any time soon, but where did it come from? While the drink gained popularity in the States in more recent years, the Spritz dates back to 1900s. Similar drinks even date as early as the 1800s. The Aperol Spritz originates from Northern Italy, but the exact origin story seems to vary. Regardless, this light and bubbly apéritif is perfect for warm summer nights. It’s beautiful gradient transports you to an al fresco dining experience in the middle of Italy.
Try one for yourself!
Recommended Glass: White wine glass, I use these.
3 oz Aperol Spritz
3 oz Prosecco
1 oz Club Soda
an orange slice, garnish
Over ice, pour Prosecco, Aperol, and top with club soda. Garnish with an orange slice. To achieve the signature color gradient, pour the Aperol on the side of the glass using the back of a spoon to help it from mixing into the Prosecco.
Saluti!
